Tutoring Assistance

Request for Tutoring Assistance

Fill outrequest a tutorto request tutoring assistance. Specify when you are available (days and times during the week) and how often you would like to meet.

Request a Tutor

We will try our best to fulfill your request as soon as possible, however we often have a waitlist for tutoring, and we cannot guarantee that we have a tutor on staff for every subject.

We are currently only accepting requests for lower level (100-200 level) courses at this time.

If you have not heard from either our office or one of our designated tutors after 4 business days, please send an email to
academics_first@sfu.ca(please note: business days are generally Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, excluding public holidays and university closures). If the link below is not working, please emailacademics_first@sfu.ca.

If you have been assigned a tutor, you will receive an email with their contact information. Please reach out to them ASAP. If a tutor has tried to contact you twice, with no response, we will assign the tutor to someone else. We require that you notify your tutor if you can no longer attend a scheduled session due to illness. No-show's will not be tolerated and you may lose your tutoring privileges.

Need Help Writing?

Please note that tutoring assistance is for course content only. If you require assistance with writing (essays, formatting, structure),click hereto book a consultation with the SFU Library's Student Learning Commons (SLC).

For writing assistance, you may also use the WriteAway program which allows you to submit papers for review before you submit them to your professor. Learn more about this service by
